In Indonesia, the government has established the Public Provident Fund (PPF) to help workers who are not employed but who are still able to work and provide for their families.

The main goal of the PPF is to help the working population to get ahead, especially the lower and middle-income groups. To achieve this, the government provides a monthly contribution to the PPF of around 12,000 to 14,000 rupiah (about US$1 to US$1.50).

For people who are employed, there is a social security system that covers the costs of sick leaves, maternity leaves, and retirement. To help you get ahead, the government also provides a monthly bonus of about 2,000 rupiah (about US$25) if you are a senior citizen.
